Statistics on Women in the Music Industry

Despite making significant contributions, women are underrepresented in the music industry. According to a study by the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative, only 21.7% of artists, 12.3% of songwriters, and 2.1% of producers were women among the top-charting songs from 2012 to 2021. Furthermore, a report by the Recording Academy shows that women make up only 14% of the music industry's executive positions.
